A Graduation Affair: Kelsey

I might have to start making this an actual segment or something. Wait, hold on. Rewind. Hello, everyone! How are you? I hope this day is treating you well (you know, once this day actually gets underway seeing as it is only shortly after midnight where I am). Now we can move on…I might have to start making this an actual segment or something! Who knew that people would actually want me to take their senior pictures. Erica? Yes. I saw that coming considering our friendship. But when my friend Kelsey approached me about doing her senior portraits for her, I couldn’t say no. One, I like photography too much and can always use the practice, and two, Kelsey is a total sweetheart and I could never dream of saying no to her. I was quite pleased with how her photos turned out, and I am proud to post some of my favorites below: More

For the Love of Mickey Mouse (Aka: Carmen’s Shoot)

Hey there! There is something about summer that just makes me happy. I mean, there are some little things that are irking me in my life, but there is just so much sunshine (or in the case of today, clouds) and I’ve got relatively more free time now (despite working 40 hours a week and taking a class). I’ve been going swimming about twice a week, and I started working out again…endorphins. That’s what this is all really about: endorphins. Actually, this is really about how I am starting to get around to being able to post all of this material I’ve collected for the blog. Today, we’re finally looking at a photo session I had with my friend and co-worker, Carmen, during spring break this year. And I think after seeing these photos, you’ll understand why this post is entitled “For the Love of Mickey Mouse.” Here we go: More

Monochrome Monday #33

Happy Monday, everyone! It’s time for your favorite start of the week pick-me-up. That’s right. I’m talking about Monochrome Monday! Today’s post is different because today, I am going back in time, all the way back to my freshman year of college when I was still just beginning my photographic journey. As I was sifting through my photos trying to find something to post, I dared to venture into the folder marked “Other Photography” (in my grand hierarchy of folders, I have a folder devoted specifically to my photography, a portfolio of sorts, that also has a bunch of other folders in it because I’m just one organized little chica). This folder is where I’ve put all of the images that were once included in my portfolio but no longer meet my high expectations as I increase in skill (if we can even call it that). And because I like/decided to revisit photos past, I found the following image of my favorite Little Guatemalan: More

Not Quite A Cinderella Story: Brandy (Part Two)

Good evening/early morning. You may be wondering why I’m still awake. Honestly, I don’t really know. I guess I figured that I’d go ahead and post the last of the photos from my latest photo shoot because I’ve been working on reconstructing my hierarchy of folders for things I want to post on the blog, and the amount of content I’ve collected is overwhelming. Over a dozen posts with nearly 70, yes SEVENTY, new images (well, “new” is a relative term) to present to you all! The next few days/weeks are going to be one non-stop photography party-train. I’m rather excited, especially considering how I have literally spent the past, oh say, 3 hours pulling photos to edit and watermark and organize into the appropriate folders for each post. (This is what I do to “relax” after working out for nearly 5 hours.) But before I get to all of those other images, how about we wrap up my photo shoot with Brandy? Check it out: More

Not Quite A Cinderella Story: Erin

Good day to you all. Class is well underway for me which is a good thing because the sooner I get through this month, the sooner I can visit home and participate in even more photography. Until then, I will just have to settle for showing you all more photos from my latest photo session with Brandy and Erin. And today, for the last time from this shoot, we will be looking at Erin. She was featured in a two-part Monochrome Monday, and though black-and-white can be fun, color can be pretty flippin’ sweet as well. But you can decide that for yourself below: More

Monochrome Monday #32

What a lazy rainy Monday. Too bad I have to spend it working and taking a summer class. Best ever, right? Still, my days are much more relaxed now that the regular school year is over. And in celebration of this feat, and my good grades for the semester, I have a new Monochrome Monday for you all! (Actually, this post and my educational successes have nothing to do with each other. I just wanted to force some sort of correlation there.) Keeping with this trend of my previous photo shoot, I have another photo of Brandy to present: More

Not Quite A Cinderella Story: Brandy (Part One)

Well, here we go. New looks at a recent photo shoot. I love getting to work with new models, and I got the opportunity to work with one of my residents, Brandy, a few weeks ago. I’ve got this thing about experimenting and preparing myself for future endeavors, and Brandy was more than willing to help me begin working on this summer’s biggest photo project: my Through the Eyes of a Child photo shoot. But it kind of turned into more of a woodland fairy tale, but not really, shoot. I guess I’ll just let you all decide what this shoot turned into: More

Monochrome Monday #31 [Part 2]

Look who is back in business!!! That’s right, dear readers. The blog is back online and better than ever! My laptop has been fixed with its new hard drive (though if held in a particular position, my laptop makes a weird noise because something was left loose when it was put back together), and though I’ve had to start rebuilding the character of my laptop with its hierarchy of folders and lost music/pictures and bookmarked webpages, things are returning to normal. And what better way to celebrate my triumphant return to the world of blogging than with the following Monochrome Monday post: More

Seeing Stars (100th Post Special)

Howdy. This is a bit unexpected seeing as my laptop is still in the shop (the diagnosis: a failed hard drive; there goes the material for the blog which I now need to reconstruct…once I get my laptop back…), but I suppose that that shouldn’t actually stop me from participating in photography and posting on this here blog. And so I have a post for you because I absolutely couldn’t stand not posting for you all. And what better way to do this than by celebrating my 100th blog post in the process?! A fine celebration indeed. See below: More
